Seniors Citizens
This Team will organize events, activities and workshops to enhance the quality of life of these two generations as well as facilitate the sharing of knowledge, experience, identity and history.
This initiative will be exclusive to Carmichael residents in its first year.

One of this team's objective is to provide weekly events for all the seniors in our community. For the most part, there are hundreds of seniors that are stuck in house 7 days a week and we believe this is extremely depressing and unhealthy for them.
One of the problems is transportation. Solution: Charter jitneys and liaise with the churches in the community to transport the seniors to the events.
Another problem is funding the events. Solution: Low cost activities that persons can sponsor a senior for.
With that said, we've come up with a list of events for the year:
January 30th - Bingo & Breakfast
February 16th - Valentine's Bus Drive - Wear something red Grammy
March 1st - Launch of Weekly outing on Tuesdays & Thursdays to Bahamas Medical Centre for exercise, health presentations, puzzles and bingo
April 17th - Spring Tea Party Event - Sweets, teas, dressed up and mpore sweets
May 21st - Pamper Day for the ladies - Massages, pedicures and manicures
June 18th - Pamper Day for the gents - Muscle rubs, hair cuts and guy movies
July - Independence Celebrations
August 1st - Clifton Heritage Park Beach Day - Island tour in the morning and beach picnic at Clifton
September - Government House Visit with Lady Pindling
October 12th - Ice Cream Drive
November 20th - Thanksgiving Service
December 18th - Adventure Learning Centre Christmas Lights Drive-thru
In addition to these monthly events, every last sunday of the month we'll take them to a different church in the community. Every other week we'll do movie night on a friday evening.
